The Story of Maita

"The Story of Maita" – a tale about a desperate idealist and passionate revolutionary Alejandro Maita. Inspired by Trotsky's ideas, he dreamed of a just society where everyone would be free and happy. With a tiny group of like-minded people, he attempted to stage an armed uprising in a small town lost in the Peruvian Andes, and, of course, he was defeated. His former classmate, who became a famous writer, now follows the trail of the failure Maita and relentlessly interrogates everyone who knew, loved, and hated him, trying to understand at what point in his life the tender-hearted oaf Maita, incapable of hurting even a fly, suddenly came to the idea that only through a violent coup could he bring happiness to all humanity.
