A Novel about Two Worlds

A young and talented pianist suffering from severe depression decides to change her environment and go to Cannes with her friends on the advice of her doctor. There she meets the Italian artist Raffaello Cellini. He sees that the girl is not getting any better and suggests she turn to his friend in Paris, who practices a highly extravagant method of treatment using electricity.
Who is this mysterious man to whom she is ready to entrust her life? A skilled and cynical charlatan - or a powerful healer who has access to much that is unknown to mere mortals?..
