After a lifetime of wars, Alaric and Talasin were forced to forge an alliance between their homelands, which was supposed to put an end to the war; however, a marriage to one's sworn enemy can hardly be called happy.

Now Talasin must play the role of Alaric's submissive wife, while her allies secretly plot to overthrow his rule. 

But the longer the couple is forced to be together, the harder it becomes to deny the feelings that have ignited between them like lightning.
