The World Through Tama's Eyes

Marni, who lost her unborn child due to her husband's beatings, rescued a chick of an Australian magpie that had fallen from its nest, nurtured it, and named it – Tamagotchi. Now, Tama's flock is not a wild group of magpies led by a strict father, but Marni and her husband Rob, a farmer and the best lumberjack in the area (who, however, can't stand magpies), and he sings not two-part songs of his kind but repeats human phrases. Marni posts Tama's 'performances' on the Internet, and the bird's fame grows – he already has tens of thousands of followers. As things are going poorly on the farm, the time comes when, on her sister's advice, Marni decides to monetize Tama's talent. Things improve on the farm, but jealous Rob tries to control his wife in everything, insulting and hitting her. The events take a very bad turn after the lumberjack competition, and only Tama manages to find a way out of the situation, albeit not the best one...
By the way, all of this deep, poetic, sometimes comical, and very truthful story is narrated by him – a magpie gentleman in a fancy black tailcoat with a white dickey.
