In a small town, where there are enough skeletons in the closets, eccentric oddballs, and old ladies reminiscent of Miss Marple, a murder has taken place.

The name of the victim is Colonel Carteret, and he is found on the riverbank next to the legendary giant trout that all local fishermen have long dreamed of catching.
