Island of Broken Hearts

When summer vacation ended, Erika Blair could not cancel an important business meeting and asked her daughters to make their way to their colleges by train, although she had initially promised to drive them. Only one of the girls, Kristen, went, and she died in a train accident.
The second daughter, Annie, also vanished — she set out to find Kristen, convincing herself that her sister had not boarded the train that fateful day, but had run away to be with her lover and was hiding somewhere from the family.
Desperate, Erika retraces Annie's footsteps back to her hometown, Mackito Island, which holds tragic memories for her. She does not expect salvation from grief and loneliness — and is unaware that by chance she has been given a chance to return to life.
