The Dog That Walked Among the Stars

72-year-old Ingrid, struggling to cope with the death of her husband, travels across half the country to stay with relatives along with her golden retriever Roshi. But while visiting, a new disaster strikes: Roshi runs away and, scared by fireworks and a pack of stray dogs, gets hopelessly lost. Alone, Ingrid returns home, where she mourns both her husband and her dog.
However, for loyalty, distance is no obstacle: Roshi is determined to find Ingrid and will not give up until he returns to his most important friend. For almost a year, Roshi travels, frequently meeting people who help him. These are very different individuals—prosperous and beaten down by life, those ready for change and those who have given up on themselves. And they all have something to learn from the determined and life-loving dog, aptly named Roshi, which means "old teacher" in Zen Buddhism: sometimes he understands them better than they understand themselves and never hesitates to help those in need.
