Board Game - Monster Battle

Don't get in the way, miserable little humans, – today the city belongs to the gigantic monsters! They have clashed in a deadly battle to finally determine who is stronger. Take one side and split into teams. A grand battle awaits you! Fight other monsters and each other, use super ability cards, and try not to destroy the city into tiny pieces. In the end, only one will remain. In this game, you will gain victory points by engaging in battle with one or more monsters, while players sacrifice the strength of their part of the city in the fight by flipping over "ruin" cards. Your task is to achieve as many victories as possible while causing less damage to the city.

 

Objective of the game:

To earn 8 victory points before the other team does.

 

Preparing for the game:

Split into 2 equal teams and choose sides. Give each player 4 health tokens depicting the corresponding hero. Choose your tokens and place them on the corresponding starting spaces for each team (indicated by arrows).

The first move is made by the player who last saw a lizard or a monkey (you can determine the first player in any other way convenient for you). Then the turn passes to a player from the other team, and so on. Thus, in a three-player game, the only player from the first team goes first, then the first player from the second team, then again the only player from the first team, and finally the second player from the second team.

 

Game turn:

Roll the dice and move your token the number of spaces rolled in any direction on your half of the board. Depending on the space where your token lands, you must perform the actions specified in the instructions.

 

The city:

Each side influences its half of the city. To earn victory points, you need to fight with regular monsters and each other. However, each such action causes serious damage to the city. If you must fight a regular monster, flip 1 city card to the "Ruin" side. If you initiated a monster battle, flip 2 city cards to the "Ruin" side. If at any point in the game all your 8 city cards are flipped to the "Ruin" side, your team loses all earned victory points. After that, flip all 8 cards back to the "City" side.

Important: do not let your half of the city be too severely damaged. You can restore your part of the city or damage your opponents' part of the city using certain "Ability" cards.

 

Battle:

On your turn, when standing on the corresponding space, you can initiate a monster battle. To do this, flip over 2 of your city cards to the "Ruin" side. Meanwhile, the opposing team does not flip their city cards. After that, all players roll the dice. The team with the higher total wins the battle. In a three-player game, the smaller team’s player rolls twice. If the attacking team wins, they gain 1 victory point and take away 1 victory point from the opponents. If the defending team wins, they receive only 1 victory point. Additionally, all members of the losing team discard 1 health token. In case of a tie, no one gets victory points.

 

Victory points:

By defeating a regular monster or winning a monster battle, you earn 1 victory point. Take a victory point token with your hero's image and place it on your team's score track.

 

End of the game:

The game ends when one of the teams earns 8 victory points.
