Zen has grown out of Buddhism and Daoism and has remained a unique form of Buddhism for centuries. Zen willingly embraces all truth in any religion, recognizes followers of all beliefs who have achieved full understanding; however, it is known that a person whose religious upbringing is based on dualism, despite their serious intentions, will face unnecessary difficulties for a long time before reaching enlightenment. No one can describe enlightenment to another person. To experience it, one must achieve it independently. A teacher can point the way or assist the student with guidance, but the work itself, as well as the attainment of enlightenment, depends entirely on the student.
