The Hunt to Live

The creativity of Vasily Shukshin (1929–1974) is an outstanding phenomenon in the art of the 1960s–1970s. Shukshin's talent manifested itself in acting, directing, and screenwriting, but it was his literary works that brought him nationwide fame. The novellas and stories of the writer have been translated into more than twenty languages and rightfully considered a treasure of Russian literature of the 20th century.
