The Books of Wisdom of Solomon

The height... of the teachings contained in these books and their instructive nature have made them highly respected in the Church since ancient times.
 
In the Orthodox Church, 6 readings from the Book of Wisdom of Solomon are used for church services on the days of remembrance of prophets, martyrs, venerable ones, and hierarchs, as all these saints lived out the lessons of true wisdom in their lives and manifested the celebrated triumph of truth and piety over delusions and wickedness in their fate, as portrayed in the Book of Wisdom. At the end of this book, a complete life of King Solomon, narrated by Saint Philaret of Chernihiv, is presented.
