Pollyanna Grows Up

«Pollyanna Grows Up» is divided into 2 parts.

In the first part, events take place about two years after the spinal injury. Pollyanna has to move for the summer to Boston to stay with Ruth Carew, as her aunt and Dr. Chilton have to leave.

The second part of the story occurs several years later, when Pollyanna is already twenty years old. She and her aunt are going through difficult times due to the loss of a loved one. To earn money, Pollyanna and her aunt are forced to take in boarders, including Jimmy Bean. Growing up brings not only joys but also sorrows; even Pollyanna finds it hard to maintain her usual cheerful demeanor, but friends and the «glad game» help her get through all hardships.
