This book is the second part of the trilogy about the legendary Medici family. Historian Marcello Simonetta tells the story of the dynasty from 1492 to 1527. At the same time, the book can be viewed as a brief history of Italy – a kind of crime novel based on the mysteries of the Renaissance and recreated from archival documents. There is not a word of fiction in it: the most unimaginable details, incredible events, extraordinary coincidences, and astonishing omens are all true and are supported by facts. "Foxes and Lions" continues the story begun in "The Mystery of Montefeltro," but can also be read as a separate captivating work.
