Evgeny Primakov, by the nature of his work, was one of the most secretive people in the country. He started as a journalist, served as the director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, which during the USSR prepared classified reports for the country's leadership. At the turning point from totalitarianism to democracy, he was 'thrown' by M. Gorbachev and B. Yeltsin into the Foreign Intelligence Service, and later into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As Prime Minister, he was called to save the country after the 1998 default. Everything presented in this book was filtered through Primakov's personal perception, knowing in advance and not fearing that not everything said would be accepted by readers.
