European Colonial Empires in the 18th Century. Struggle for Dominance and Trade on Different Continents

By the mid-18th century, every European country bordering the Atlantic, and even some states that did not border it, acquired lands overseas. And as these imperial powers rushed to seize colonies, the world became too small for these competing adventurers. The author of the book examines the second phase of colonization – the struggle for the expansion of newly acquired territories and the activation of trade. It narrates the military and political confrontations between the main players of the colonization movement, internal rebellions, shifts in course, and transformations in attitudes towards subjugated races.
