The Practice of Contemplative Prayer. The Cloud of Unknowing. Christian Mysticism

This book is a translation into Russian of the mystical Christian treatise of the 14th century, "The Cloud of Unknowing," dated 1375 and supposedly written by an anonymous scholarly monk.
 
The author of this text argues that some things never change,... including humanity's need for connection with its Creator. Prayer and contemplation of the Divine are the means through which for centuries humans have made progress in knowing God.
 
In "The Cloud of Unknowing," the discussion centers on the tools used by the medieval monastic community to create and maintain knowledge of God obtained through contemplation. It serves as a guide for young monks, a kind of instruction from the elder brothers.
