Dead Cells — is a cooperative board game in the new genre of Roguevania (a combination of Rogue-Lite and Metroidvania genres). What are these genres?
The Rogue-Lite genre has the following features: randomly generated levels, bonuses, and items, as well as... an endless cycle of death and resurrection of characters. A Rogue-Lite differs from Roguelike (classic “Roguelike”) in that it has progression (unlocking new characters or abilities) that affects subsequent runs.
In the Metroidvania platformer genre, players control a character in a large, interconnected game world. The only way to overcome certain obstacles is to find new items or abilities through exploration and adventures. Having found the necessary item or unlocked a new ability, players can return to previously inaccessible parts of the game world and unlock them.
Smartly navigate through the sprawling and ever-changing castle! Each biome has different paths with random tiles that change from run to run.
Each Headless has its own strength and unique battle card deck. Combine your special skills, attacks, and equipment to defeat the enemies you encounter along the way!
