Axioms of Religious Experience

"Axioms of Religious Experience" (1953) is one of the foundational and final works of the outstanding Russian religious philosopher, writer, and publicist Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin (1883-1954) - the culmination of his entire life's work. In it, from the perspective of... an Orthodox Christian, the author explores the experience of spiritual experiences in a person, his moral beginnings, and shares judgments about the thorny path of the soul to faith in God.
This edition also includes three significant speeches (1914-1923) by I.A. Ilyin, united under the title "The Religious Meaning of Philosophy," and his reflections "The Foundations of Christian Culture" (1937), providing an understanding of the principles of the interconnections and interactions of Orthodox religious worldview with philosophical quests and culture in various, including problematic, aspects.
