The Last Conspiracy of Hitler: The Story of the Rescue of 139 VIP Prisoners

In 1945, Germany is on the brink of defeat, but Hitler has an ace up his sleeve: over a hundred invaluable prisoners who are to become a human shield and a strong argument in negotiations with the Allies. European presidents, prime ministers, generals, British secret agents, German anti-Nazi clergy, celebrities, and participants in the conspiracy against Hitler - they are to become the last line of defense for the Wehrmacht and SS in the Alps. In the event of defeat, they face execution. This is a thrilling account of a woefully forgotten episode of World War II, created based on previously unpublished and little-known sources
