Oleg Kiryanov – an Orientalist, journalist, specialist in the Korean Peninsula, where he has lived and worked for over 20 years. But Oleg Kiryanov's true passion is the mountains. His fascination with mountaineering began more than ten years ago, and during this time he has managed to conquer Peak Communism (Ismail Samani), Peak Lenin (Abu Ali Ibn Sina), Peak Korzhenevskaya (Ozodi), Khan Tengri, Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu, Ama Dablam, Merapi, and Lobuche.

Together with the author, you will climb all the seven-thousanders of the former USSR, experience a real storm at an altitude of 6000 meters, witness rescue operations, see dangerous mirages, and conquer new peaks.
