The murder of Mikhoyels and the destruction of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, Golda Meir's Moscow term and the oscillations of the Kremlin-favored Ilya Ehrenburg, the fight against rootless cosmopolitans and the “Doctors' Plot”, anti-Semitic “economic” processes of the early 1960s, and the surge of national self-awareness after the Six-Day War, anti-Semitic narratives in Soviet propaganda and the activities of the servile Anti-Zionist Committee — all of this has been the subject of the book.

The situation in modern Russia has also not been overlooked, where there has recently been a surge in anti-Israeli rhetoric. The research is based on numerous archival documents that are little known to the general public, as well as surveys and interviews.
