A snowstorm catches a group of poorly prepared tourists in the mountains of the Polar Ural, gathered for a hike «via the Internet». Alla realizes that the group is on the brink of disaster. They have an... injured person, and there is no way they can cross the pass. Death, terrible and senseless, envelops them all with its icy breath.
A freezing group is found by Mark Ledogorov, who escorts them to a forest outpost, more resembling an ark. It seems like a miracle has happened, everyone is saved, but… who is this Mark Ledogorov? What is he doing here? Why does he shoot like a sniper, and his outpost – or ark! – can’t be found on any map, while a packed ski trail is laid in the remote taiga forest?
When a mysterious and inexplicable murder occurs at the outpost, the situation becomes even more complicated. Mark Ledogorov is convinced that all members of the tourist group are lying to him. For what purpose? Who among them is here by chance? Mark and his friend Pavel must not only unravel a terrible mystery but also come to terms with themselves, find love, and achieve salvation – after all, the ark was invented to save lives!..
