Guide to the Renamed City

This collection consists of works by Joseph Brodsky, united by the theme of Leningrad – the city where he was born and raised and where a significant part of his life took place before emigrating from the USSR. Alongside such... well-known poems as "From the Outskirts to the Center," "Stop in the Desert," "From February to April," the book also includes rarely published works – "Stanzas to the City," "The Bay Shines and the Wind Carries...," "The Embankment of the Priazha River," and others, as well as two essays – "Guide to the Renamed City" and "One and a Half Rooms."

The publication includes archival photographs of Leningrad from the 1960s and 1970s. Their author is the outstanding photographer Ilya Avraamovich Narovlyansky (1921–2000).
