Hitchcock: Alfred and Alma. 53 Films and 53 Years of Love

Writer and film scholar Thilo Vidra created the first dual biography of the legendary creative couple «Alma and Alfred Hitchcock», relying on a vast array of documents and numerous interviews. Carefully and admirably observing the main events and films in... the lives of this couple, the author has created a magnificent work on the history of 20th-century cinema. The Hitchcocks were pioneers throughout their lives, repeatedly finding the perfect form to express their vision. Together they created masterpieces such as «Psycho», «Rear Window», «To Catch a Thief», «Vertigo» and «The Birds». Although Alma preferred to remain in the shadows as a screenwriter and editing master, the final word in all important decisions was hers. «At last, a book has appeared that recognizes Hitchcock's wife as his equal co-author,» says director Margarethe von Trotta.
