Hunting a person – is it even possible to consider such a thing in our days? Jodie Luna, who left Boston University to work as a game warden in her home state of New Mexico, is forced to ask this... question in the very first week: tourists find a severed female hand among the picturesque fields… Jodie is no newcomer to these wild lands: her family has lived here for several generations. Principled and resolute, Inspector Luna tries to bring order to her territory – but how can she do this when the poacher Travis, caught by her at the crime scene, threatens to retaliate instead of showing remorse, and the corrupt police do nothing?
The cat-and-mouse game leads Luna to a gang of white supremacy supporters who abduct women of color to please their cruel leader nicknamed General Zeb. And Jodie finds herself in a deadly confrontation with the bandits, which poses a threat not only to herself but also to her loved ones.
