The poetry collection "Flowers of Evil" is a great work by Charles Baudelaire, one of the greatest poets of 19th century France. The hero of the cycle is torn between the ideal of spiritual beauty and the beauty of vice,... haunted by a sense of duality and a thirst for death. Included in the treasury of world literature, "Flowers of Evil" is published in a translation by Adrian Lample, a Russian poet-translator of Swiss origin. This is the most complete of all existing translations of the collection, published in Paris in 1929, and it gave rise to the myth that its author is Marina Tsvetaeva herself.
