"Under Dark Waves" is a massive expansion for the board game "Arkham Horror" that contains 4 full scenarios with detailed and branching plots,... telling of the grim horrors from the depths of the seas. New characters with unique abilities will appear in the game, along with new equipment and special monsters. In addition to a wealth of new components, the expansion introduces new mechanics that give monsters unusual abilities, spread despair throughout the city, and allow players to choose game modes that influence the difficulty of any scenario.

About the Game
"Arkham Horror: Third Edition" is a new edition of the world-famous cooperative adventure based on Lovecraft's mad myths. The game is released after a damned dozen years since the previous part, which is quite symbolic… A new danger looms over Arkham (and the entire world). Horrific beings, usually dwelling outside our time and space, are creeping into our world. So once again, you can expect mystical events, encounters with the supernatural, battles with monsters, journeys through other worlds, confrontations with the Ancient Ones, and other damnable matters!
The game itself has undergone significant transformation and represents an improved and redesigned version of the game with new mechanics. The first thing that catches the eye is the modular composite board, which makes the game more compact, variable, and user-friendly. The board consists of tiles of districts and streets that connect various locations.

Now the game offers four scenarios, each with its own Ancient One and its own game board. You can challenge Cthulhu, Azathoth, Hastur, and Shub-Niggurath, whose power in the material world will increase over the course of the game and due to the detectives' failures. To win, you still need to gather clues, close gates, and destroy monsters, but now each scenario presents its own victory conditions, which are initially unknown to players. The scenarios are designed in such a way that each adventure will differ from the previous one.
Each detective that you will play as is unique, with their own story, motives, and set of characteristics, both primary (stamina and sanity) and secondary (observation, strength, will, etc.). By the way, unlike the previous version, here you can choose your starting equipment.

How to Play?
The game is played in rounds, and the rounds are divided into phases. Players decide who acts and in what order.
Action Phase – each player can perform two different actions. This can be movement, gaining resources, attacking a monster and evading it, trading with other players, exploring locations, and other actions.
Monster Phase – monsters activate, attack players, or prepare for the next turns.
Contact Phase – investigators draw contact cards, which are various events that occur with them.
Mythos Phase – investigators draw two tokens, which have a strong impact on the game. New monsters, clues, tokens, etc. may appear in the game.
All checks, as usual, are resolved by rolling dice. Thus, turn by turn players get into predicaments and try to find their way out while investigating the scenario.

Who Won?
"Arkham Horror" is a fully cooperative game, so all players win and lose together. To win, you must fulfill a series of conditions that depend on the scenario, but initially, they are not obvious – players will have to conduct their own investigation and come to a conclusion or shamefully perish in the abyss of wild horror.
