Where Whales Sing

Thirteen-year-old Candelaria lives with her eccentric family in a mountain estate called Parruca. Her father is an artist.
The entrance to their home is adorned with sculptures of whales made by him. But one day, the father left in an unknown... direction and did not return. While the vegetation methodically devours the house, whimsical guests appear: a woman who is an expert on poisonous plants; an elderly man who suffers from paranoia and fears everything in the world, and a dying author of a mysterious manuscript. Candelaria believes that these people will help her find her father, where the whales sing. 
The search will reveal to her the multifaceted nature of life and show how vulnerable people are. Echoing the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Juan Rulfo, and Gioconda Belli, the novel "Where Whales Sing" continues the trend of "new realism," uncovering new facets of Latin America.
