The Courtesan Sonniсa

219 BC. The famous Athenian courtesan, deciding to become a respectable woman, moved from Athens to the ends of the earth — to the distant city of Saguntum, where no one had heard of her. To break with the past, she even changed her name. Now she is called Sonniсa. But the past does not let go, and the residents of Saguntum are divided into two camps regarding her. Some praise Sonniсa for her help to the poor and her reverence for the gods, while others are convinced that she corrupts the local youth.

Meanwhile, a Greek named Acteon appears in Saguntum — a warrior and adventurer. He has no prejudice against courtesans. A feeling flares up between him and Sonniсa. However, they will have to fight for their love, as danger approaches the city. The Carthaginian general Hannibal seeks to avenge Rome for Carthage's defeat in the First Punic War and attacks Saguntum, which is an ally of Rome.
