Something is wrong with the Galvins. A perfect family shattered by madness

The Galvins seemed like an exemplary American family. The father is a military man, the mother is a housewife, both actively participating in the public and social life of the state and the country. Twelve children—ten boys and two girls—are the pride of the family, they are talented and hold great promise. Suddenly, the eldest son, a successful university student, is diagnosed with "schizophrenia." Over the next few years, five more of the Galvin sons are found to have this serious illness. Then hell begins: it turns out that behind the perfect facade lay a far from perfect life: physical and sexual violence, abuse, drugs—but the parents, Don and Mimi, turned a blind eye to what was happening until the very end. All of this inevitably leads to tragic consequences and the disintegration of family members. For several decades, scientists, psychiatrists, and geneticists have been wrestling with the mystery of the Galvin family, proposing various hypotheses. But will they be able to find the answer and bring hope to millions of people?
