Sister of Silence

Lenigrad summer of 1935. The senior surgical nurse of the military academy, Eleonora Voina, adopts the daughter of enemies of the people. The joy in the family is overshadowed by the difficult situation in society – after the assassination of Kirov, the fight against Trotskyists has intensified, and denunciations have poured in. Among the arrested is a scandalous nurse who, to save herself, may accuse anyone. What to do? Grab the husband and children – and flee to the Far North?
