Russian People. Plays

The play "Russian People" is part of the in-depth reading program for literature in the 11th grade. Konstantin Mikhailovich Simonov (1915–1979) was a Soviet writer, war correspondent, and public figure. "Have you heard or not, writer? Have you heard or not, how Russian people face death?" "Russian People" (1942) is a play written in the midst of the Great Patriotic War, which played a huge role in uplifting the fighting spirit of Soviet soldiers and workers on the home front. At the center of the play are ordinary "Russian people": soldiers and partisans, whose courage and loyalty to the Motherland manifest under inhumane conditions of war. The book also includes K. Simonov's play "The Story of One Love" (1951).
