Catastrophe never comes alone. The terribly catastrophic trip of schoolchildren to the zoo was preceded by a whole series of disasters, and the first of them was a flood in a small school for special needs children. Someone sealed the... sinks' drainholes with modeling clay and turned on the faucets for the entire weekend. The school is closed, the children are transferred to another nearby one, but they cannot come to terms with it and secretly begin their own investigation. They are convinced that the flood was orchestrated by one of the adults for a criminal purpose. The investigation is led by a girl named Josephine, who also narrates the story: her parents threatened to withhold sweets if she didn't reveal the whole truth to them. However, events take an unexpected turn and keep the reader in suspense until the very last page.
