The dream of immortality has... come true. Yet old age, diseases, accidents, and other misfortunes have not disappeared. Thousands of people find themselves in a state of deferred death, and their relatives do not know how to alleviate their loved ones' suffering…
 
Convinced of the experiment's failure, death returns. She promises to send notices to the doomed seven days before their demise. But one lavender envelope with the sentence keeps returning to the sender. A musician, living with a dog, has no intention of dying, while death cannot decide to take his life.
