The Earth Under Snow

1962, rural England. Dr. Eric Parry, a man who knows how to keep his secrets, is out on calls while his pregnant wife sleeps in their warm, cozy cottage. In a nearby farm, in a house that cannot be heated, another pregnant woman, Rita Simmons, also sleeps, but even in her dreams she is haunted by memories of her past life. Her husband has been up since morning, busy in the cowshed. The relationships in both couples are fairly stable—affection is certainly present, and maybe even love. But December brings blizzards, and an unusually harsh winter sets in. Our heroes are faced with trials not only from the weather.
