The lessons in the self-study guide are divided into two sections, corresponding to the first two levels of HSK. The guide uses vocabulary and grammar from the exam, but also presents additional information for preparing for the next levels. Each lesson consists of a theoretical part with examples and a practical part with exercises, the answers to which can be found at the end of the book. Necessary appendices are also provided there.
