The Jewish War

Readers are presented with the first translation from ancient Greek of «The Jewish War» by the famous historian Flavius Josephus (37–100 AD). One of the most significant works not only of ancient but of world historiography, created by an author who equally absorbed both Jewish and Roman culture. Josephus wrote his work literally in the wake of the «Jewish War» — the Great Revolt of the Jews against Roman rule (69–71 AD), in which he himself participated, and presented this war in all its fury and complexity, placing it in the broad context of Jewish history.
