Poems for children by Kadya Molodovskaya began to be written when she worked at a school, and they immediately became hugely successful. In the memory of descendants, Molodovskaya's children's poems largely overshadowed her adult poetry.
These poems, in translations into Hebrew,...
formed the basis of children's poetry in Israel until the 1960s. The first collections of poems "Heshvndike Necht" ("Autumn Nights", 1927) and "Dzhike Has" ("Wild Street", 1933) brought Molodovskaya fame. The style of her poetic works reflects the influence of expressionists from the 1920s. Many of Molodovskaya's poems are written in free verse. The language of the children's poems is close to conversational, expressing the world of representations and feelings of a child from the Warsaw slums.
