Metamorphoses of Love and Death in Talmudic Texts

The author of the book is a researcher of Talmudic literature, that is, literature created by Jewish sages in late antiquity in the territory of the Land of Israel and Sasanian Persia. The book is not strictly academic, but belongs to the genre of essays, meaning it is something intermediate between a scientific article and a literary essay. The larger part of the book consists of discussions of selected stories from Talmudic literature, explained from the perspective of contemporary literary criticism and historical science.
