The Work of Love

The book collects lectures delivered by Grigory Pomerants and Zinaida Mirkina over the last 10 years, as well as essays on related topics. The authors' goal is to guide the reader and listener towards the formation of a holistic personality in an atmosphere of general openness, restoring the integrity of a world shattered into fragments. Knowledge-power, aimed at solving specific problems, is opposed to knowledge-participation in the Whole; the phantoms of TV are contrasted with the spiritual reality accessible only to metaphysical courage. The idea of P.M. Rilke about the work of love, without which love fades, is a thread that runs through the entire book.
