The steadily increasing number of new concepts and... terms in anatomy, histology, genetics, cytology, embryology, and other fields causes difficulties in the interpretation of data on the macro- and microscopic structure of tissues, organs, and systems of the human body, as well as in establishing connections between individual morphological disciplines when incorporating new material into the established terminological structure. Periodically published anatomical and histological nomenclatures cannot keep up with the pace of growth in new scientific data and names of morphological structures, which complicates communication between anatomists, histologists, physiologists, and other specialists.
All this served as the reason for the creation of this terminological dictionary – the first in the history of domestic morphological science.
The dictionary is intended for students of medical and biological faculties of higher educational institutions, researchers in morphology, and anyone interested in the achievements of morphological science.
