Robinson Crusoe

The ship wrecks, and only one British sailor escapes to the nearest deserted island. He struggles for survival: finds ship supplies, builds shelter, engages in farming, and tames wild goats. Crusoe does not lose hope of returning to his native England, but he is unaware that his stay on the island will last for a long twenty-seven years… "Robinson Crusoe" became so popular immediately after its release that it gave rise to an entire subgenre of adventure literature, and later cinema — "robinsonade," and the main character became a symbol of the unwavering will of man and his abilities in the struggle against nature.
