A rebel and romantic, a rural lyricist and urban dandy, Yesenin became one of the most vivid and controversial figures of the Silver Age. His poetry is the living nerve of the era, in which tenderness and pain, despair and light intertwine in a mesmerizing melody of the Russian word.

This collection includes selected poems and poems by Yesenin, including «Inonia» and «The Black Man», as well as memories of his contemporaries, particularly Vladislav Khodasevich, which help to understand the fate of the poet more deeply.

The current book includes the author's illustrations by Elizaveta Nadezhdina.
