Little Men

Before becoming a world-famous author, L.M. Alcott (1832—1888) worked as a nurse during the Civil War, fought against slavery, and was one of the first participants in the women's suffrage movement. She viewed the world and wrote about it as she lived, with faith in the future, with love and compassion for people. Fidelity to life's truth and high ideals, humor, and unquenchable optimism will always attract young and adult readers to her books.

After the resounding success of «Little Women» and «Good Wives», Alcott created a third novel about the March family girls — «Little Men». Tireless Jo opened a school and took in boys of various characters and ages. Without making strict rules, she shows that kindness can perform miracles.
