Rat Gromov, who grew up in an orphanage, has learned to rely only on himself. The guy's life changes abruptly when his Aunt Lisa comes to pick him up. Moving to her old house in the town of Gruvsk, Rat learns that their family keeps ancient secrets; they are the Berkutchis, bird-warriors, protectors of people, and guardians of the boundaries between worlds.
