Priladozhye, IX century. Along the banks of rivers connecting the Baltic Sea to the passages to Byzantium, people from various tribes have lived and died, fought and traded for ages: Scandinavians, Balts, Finns, and Slavs. Ancient beliefs, legends, and primal... rituals create an exciting atmosphere against which unfolds the drama of Ingigerd, the daughter of a king, who suddenly loses everything: after the Viking capture of the trading city of Aldeigi and the murder of her father, the girl, who miraculously escaped captivity, is consumed by a thirst for revenge and waits for the moment to enact justice.
At the same time, the young skald and rune expert Ingi, along with his friends, sets off on his first sea voyage. Will the paths of the king's daughter and the young oarsman intersect?
