Nyurka Chebneva has dreamed of becoming a seasoned detective since childhood, which is why she constantly intervenes in her father Afanasy Silych's affairs - the district overseer. And even though she is still studying at the gymnasium, no one can... keep Nyurka from participating in dangerous investigations, not even the stern Theophania, who has raised the girl since infancy.
The detective police department, led by Afanasy Chebnev, investigates murders that share something in common: each time the criminal leaves a small elegant doll next to the victim. Of course, Nyurka sticks her snub-nosed face into the investigation and soon discovers that the dolls were made by a famous actress, dancer, and friend of Anna Akhmatova - Olga Suidekina. But what do the dolls have to do with it? If this is a message, then for whom? And what connection does the cruel murderer have with the beautiful Colombina - Olga Suidekina?
