The new edition has been significantly revised and updated in light of recent achievements in pharmacology, the emergence of new drugs, and their implementation in pharmacotherapy practice.
The book contains a general introduction and 14 chapters. The first 7 chapters are... dedicated to the following pharmacological (pharmacotherapeutic) groups of medicinal products: those primarily acting on the central nervous system; affecting mainly peripheral neurotransmitter processes; on afferent nerve endings; on the cardiovascular system; on the excretory function of the kidneys; hepatoprotective agents; uterine preparations. Chapters 8 to 14 contain information about agents that regulate metabolic processes; about antihypoxants and antioxidants; about agents that regulate immunological processes (immunomodulators, immunocorrectors); about drugs from different pharmacological groups; about antimicrobial, antiviral, and other anti-infective agents; about agents used for the treatment of oncological diseases; about some diagnostic (contrast agents, etc.) products.
For individual drugs, information is provided on their chemical nature, structure, synonyms, key pharmacological properties, pharmacokinetic parameters, mechanisms of action, indications for use, doses, possible side effects, and contraindications, as well as dosage forms and some other information necessary for rational pharmacotherapy. When using the book, it is recommended to carefully familiarize oneself with the general introduction and overall information preceding each chapter and subsection. 
The book is intended for doctors, pharmacists, and other medical service specialists, for students of higher medical and pharmaceutical educational institutions, as well as for specialists involved in the creation of new medicinal products.
