«Float made of aspen» — stories about the departing, almost disappeared Volga civilization. The Volga Atlantis. The author, in his own words, wanted to give a voice to the people of the Volga shore: ferrymen, buoy keepers, fishermen, skippers, boatmen.... But at some point, he felt that it was they who were giving a voice to him.
