People who have not been accepted by their own world are rare, but they exist. Upon entering Arland through the portal, under the wing of the church, they must prove their loyalty to the Savior... or die. To perish at... the hands of the servants of the Fallen or the fangs of the vile creatures, or even on the stake of the Inquisition. During the long time that followed the Time of Troubles, only seventeen people made it to Arland and only a few survived, against all odds. They came to be called strangers. And Vlad is one of them, a man who not only survived but also became a master hunter and a threat to the lords of the vile. And the first commandment of the hunters' guild states that there are no former hunters.
